The name of Anatoly Naumovich Rybakov (1911-1998), a classic of Russian literature, author of the epochal novels "Children of Arbat" and "Heavy Sand", is known throughout the world, his works have been translated into dozens of languages. However, widespread fame came to Rybakov long before the publication of his major novels. And the greatest popularity won adventure books, a special place among which are stories about Misha Polyakov, primarily "Kortik" and "Bronze Bird". The heroes of these works belong to a generation of brave, honest, straightforward "children of the revolution", and on the twists and turns of the plot lies the glow of the Civil War, the NEP and irreconcilable class struggle. Along with the books by Kassil and Gaidar, Rybakov's adventure stories made up the golden fund of Soviet literature for youth, and were also screened many times with the author's participation as a screenwriter.
