Janusz Korczak (1878-1942) was a prominent Polish doctor, teacher and writer who devoted his entire life to other people's children. He opened the Orphans' Home in Warsaw, where children who had lost their parents lived, studied and were brought up. Having lived a respectable life, Janusz Korczak died as a hero - during World War II he died in a concentration camp together with his young pupils, refusing the freedom offered to him. One of the most famous works of the writer is the story-tale "King Matiusz the First". This is the story of young Matiusz, who, having lost his parents early, was forced to take the throne of the king. Feeling responsible to his people, Matiusz, a kind and sympathetic boy, wanted with all his heart to make the life of people in his kingdom better. And above all, he thought of the children. But how many difficulties and disappointments awaited him on this difficult but noble path!
