On the Theory and Practice of Argument", published in the publishing house "Nachatki znanie" in Petrograd in 1923. Despite its advanced age, the book is extremely useful for modern Russian readers interested in the socio-political life of the country and the world and often participate (at home or on the Internet) in a variety of discussions. The book is very accessible, in popular language, although on the examples of the reality of the time, tells about the rules and techniques of argument, gives the basic concepts and principles of logic (correct thinking), allowing when mastering them to win victories over their interlocutors. A significant part of the book is devoted to tricks in a dispute, which are now actively used by opponents in cases where they do not have the opportunity to support their position with reasonable arguments. Moreover, the author not only classifies the types of tricks in a dispute - common tricks, sophisms, false and arbitrary arguments, imaginary evidence, etc., but also indicates measures against these tricks, allowing them to neutralize them and solve the dispute in their favor.
