The book "Celtic Revival" is devoted to the history of the Irish cultural and educational movement of the early 20th century and the work of its leaders - William Butler Yeats, the "national poet" of Ireland, who created a new Irish poetry on the basis of ancient sagas and European symbolism, Lady Augusta Gregory, a collector of folklore and translator from Old Irish, and John Sing, a poet and playwright, a researcher of life and life in the Irish countryside. The focal point of the movement was the first Irish national theater, the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, which opened in 1904.
The legacy of the Celtic Revival served as the foundation of modern Irish identity and was a powerful impetus for the development of today's internationally recognizable Irish cultural tradition in literature, theater, music and dance.
