The events of Lena Eltang's novel unfold on the Italian coast, in the Hotel Briatico, a white-washed hotel standing on a hilltop, a family estate surrounded by vineyards. Circumstances bring here characters connected by invisible threads, including the protagonist Marcus - a writer who has lost the ability to compose, a student who has lost her brother, an heir who has lost his estate, a police commissioner investigating strange deaths.... The detective plot characteristic of Eltang's prose is enriched with events that took place in different years, dramatic coincidences and new meanings. The content of this multi-layered and polyphonic novel is much deeper than the search for an answer to the question "Who is the killer?", although this answer the reader will not be able to guess until the very end.
