The Koreets and Manjur gunboats were built according to the principle "there is no prophet in his own country". The technical specifications were developed by the ITC, the prototype was the "Bobr" type gunboats, and the executors, as in the case of the "Sivuch", were Sweden and Denmark. It cannot be said that Russian shipyards could not cope with the construction, but the desire to borrow Western experience again won out. The Naval Department adhered to the same style of work in the future - the running-in of the project took place in England, France or Germany, and serial ships were built at home. The Swedes and Danes built very successful ships, combining shallow draft with powerful armament. Shoals bypassed them and the lack of a double bottom did not affect their fate. Having successfully withstood the difficulties of ice navigation in March 1895 and withstood the German coastal guns during the Russian-Chinese war in 1900, "Koreets" honorably fulfilled its duty, avoiding the shameful surrender four years later, and "Manjur" was destined for a long ordinary service. It became the prototype of the numerous Black Sea family of boats that confirmed the success of the project.
