Henryk Sienkiewicz, a classic of Polish literature and honorary academician of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences, was a brilliant historical novelist. In 1905, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature with the wording "For outstanding services in the field of epic". "Kamo Gredeshi" is his most famous novel, the action of which develops during the last four years of the reign of Nero (64-68 AD), at the time of the formation of Christianity and the first acts of the apostles. Against the backdrop of historical events that forever changed the face of Western civilization, Sienkiewicz tells the tragic and difficult love story of a Roman aristocrat's love for a Christian woman persecuted by the authorities.
