The Moscow Patriarchate Publishing House has released the Orthodox Church Calendar for 2027, "Heeding the Word of God." This publication contains daily readings from the Holy Scriptures.
In daily life, Christians need to read the books of the New and Old Testaments. They can be read sequentially, chapter by chapter, or selectively, as desired. However, it is better to read daily, together with the entire Church, those passages of Holy Scripture that are proclaimed in God's churches. The Orthodox Church Calendar, "Heeding the Word of God," includes selected texts from the Gospel and Epistle for home reading (translated into Russian) for each day. Chapters from the Old Testament are included for the days of Great Lent, when the Liturgy is not celebrated.
The texts of the Old Testament parables (from the books of Genesis, Proverbs, and the prophets Joel, Zechariah, and Isaiah) are published in P. A. Yunger's translation, based on the official publications of the Moscow Patriarchate, published between 2006 and 2012.
The calendar for 2027 is presented in the traditional expanded version. During Great Lent, the calendar includes all the necessary Old Testament readings (at the Hours and at Vespers).
The calendar is published as part of the series of tabletop church calendars by the Moscow Patriarchate Publishing House.
This publication is carried out with the blessing of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus'.
