Maria Tolmacheva began to write actively in adulthood, when she moved from Nizhny Novgorod to St. Petersburg and began to attend literary evenings organized by the publishers of the children's magazine "Tropinka". There she became friends with Alexander Blok's mother, and later began to communicate with him himself. The story "How Tasia lived," published in 1913, immediately attracted the attention of the reading public to Maria Tolmacheva. After the revolution, she continued to write for children, while working in preschool institutions. The writer died in besieged Leningrad, leaving many generations of readers touching stories about little heroes. On her sixth birthday, Tasia receives a wonderful polar bear as a gift from her grandfather. So why is the girl not happy? She is worried about the old bear - shabby, with patches, but so dear and loved. The bear probably thinks that Tasia will abandon him now, forget him for the sake of a new handsome bear with a wonderful blue bow. But no, Tasia would not betray her old friend! Only the new teddy bear is pitiful - what it is like for him alone in a strange house... If only her teddy bears could become friends! Meanwhile, the little girl will have to make a difficult choice, solve a real serious problem and learn to act according to her conscience. For children of primary school age.
