You are holding in your hands a collection of pedagogical repertoire for first-grade students at a children's music school. This collection was compiled to provide a sufficient amount of musical and pedagogical material for teaching a child piano throughout the year in a single textbook.
The collection includes pieces from many previously published textbooks, addressing the challenges of this period of study.
In accordance with the curriculum requirements of the Children's Music School and the Children's Art School, this collection includes works representing the following categories: polyphony, large-scale form, pieces, etudes, and ensembles. The extensive artistic and instructional material allows for a selection of sufficient pieces to acquire and reinforce knowledge and skills, taking into account the individual student's abilities.
Due to the specific nature of the initial period of study, the material is not divided into sections, but is presented in a gradually increasing complexity manner. The entire selection and systematization of the works was a reflection of well-known pedagogical principles and, to an equal extent, the result of the authors’ many years of experience working with children.
