Eleanor Oliphant is perfectly fine: she works as an accountant, drinks on weekends, and on Wednesdays talks to her faraway mommy. Eleanor has no luck: she is surrounded by unremarkable people with primitive tastes and a poor vocabulary (at least it seems that way to her). But everything changes when, going to a concert one day, she sees an elegantly dressed rock musician. Eleanor immediately realizes: it's him. But as she prepares for the momentous meeting, she has to make do with much more modest company.
Eleanor Oliphant is perfectly fine. So she tells those around her. Except that she tries not to remember the past and saves herself from insomnia with vodka.
Gradually, a funny story about the life of a socially maladapted woman turns into a sad, touching story about childhood trauma, love and loneliness. A story that will leave no one indifferent.
