Pavel Pavlovich Muratov (1881, Bobrov - 1950, Waterford) was a Russian writer of the first half of the 20th century, whose book Notes on Italy is an outstanding literary monument to a beautiful country, its art and the charm of discovery for generations of readers. However, no less outstanding is Muratov's fictional legacy, still not fully discovered and not presented in the way Muratov intended.
Publishing house "Prestige Book" two-volume collection of works returns readers a full set of the author's works of fiction. Muratov's only novel "Egeria" is restored according to the edition of 1921, which was not realized due to the arrest and subsequent emigration, for which the famous artist V. A. Favorsky prepared several engravings. The first volume also includes three comedies and selected translations. The second volume includes the collections "Heroes and Heroines" and "Magical Stories". All texts are published for the first time according to the last author's editions; their sequence is restored, taking into account the Petrograd and subsequent Paris editions, as well as Muratov's unrealized third edition of Magical Stories. The author's dedications and illustrations by artists of the era have been preserved.
