More than a century has passed since the light saw “General History, processed by “Satyricon” under the editorship of A. T. Averchenko.

The authors-Satiricons were confident in advance that their "General History..." would not be "recommended by the Scientific Committee, consisting of. under the Ministry of People's Education.," but this did not prevent the book from becoming a cult and withstand many publications.

Conceived as an imitation of the “Satyricon”, “History of Russia, retold for children and adults” also consistently and in a parody manner describes the events that took place in the country, since the appearance of mammoths and the first people here, but, unlike the famous book of satyricons, is designed primarily for the young reader. The author’s submission of material and anti-serious style of narration do not make the book less informative and interesting.
Special attention should be paid to the magnificent illustrative material, which includes masterpieces of domestic historical painting and author's drawings of Maria Filippova.

The second part of the book tells about the history of Russia from the era of the Petrovsky transformations to the end of the Crimean War.

For a wide range of readers.
