Michael Ende is one of the most renowned German writers of the second half of the 20th century. His children's books, read with gusto by adults as well, have long since become classics. His most famous work, "The Never-Ending Story," tells the story of eleven-year-old Bastian Balthasar Bux's journey to the land of Fantasy. Considered a weakling by everyone in his class, chubby Bastian loved to read. One day, while accidentally visiting a second-hand bookshop, he saw a book in an antique binding and, unable to resist the magical power emanating from the tome, stole it. Climbing to the attic, he began reading and was unable to tear himself away from the amazing story, immersed in which he himself became the hero of incredible, fantastical adventures.
