Soviet cinemas are long gone. But I myself come from a Soviet childhood. And that's why I traditionally precede the session of my movies with a newsreel. More precisely, these are not yet movies. They're scripts. But if there were no scripts, there would be no movies. While taking a course of scriptwriters at VGIK, I tell my students this story at the first class. A film storehouse, two mice are gnawing on the film of a movie. And one mouse to the other says: "And the script was tastier!" I've made 50 movies based on my scripts. But I'm only giving you nine. And all of them are about love." Arkady Inin
