Sergey Yesenin was born into a peasant family in the village of Konstantinov, Ryazan province. He began writing poetry at the age of nine. At eighteen he sent them to editors and, by his admission, was surprised that his works are not printed. Then he "rumbled" in St. Petersburg, went directly to Blok, who "fresh, clean, vocal" poems of a talented peasant poet-self-promoter very much liked ... According to E. Yevtushenko. Yevtushenko, Esenin, perhaps, the most Russian poet, "for no one else's poetry so did not come from the rustle of birch trees, from the soft clatter of raindrops ... in no one else was such a defenseless confessionality, although it is sometimes covered with exuberance ...". This edition presents selected poems by Sergei Yesenin, his "little poems", as well as the poems "Pugachev", "Anna Snegina", "The Black Man".
