Gabriel García Márquez is one of the greatest writers of the 20th century, a Nobel Prize laureate in literature, and the author of the novels One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Autumn of the Patriarch, Love in the Time of Cholera, and many other works. In 1986, he founded the International School of Cinema and Television in Cuba, and the following year, he opened a special course—the Gabriel García Márquez Screenwriting Workshop. Together with talented young screenwriters, cinematographers, actors, and directors, the maestro composed and analyzed a variety of plots, transforming them, as if by magic, into fully fledged film scripts.

Readers of The Art of Storytelling will not only get to know the great Colombian writer better, learn about his views on creativity and the tools he uses to construct his magical prose, but will also read intriguing stories that seem to have come straight from the pages of the inimitable Gabriel García Márquez's novels.
