Writer Jan Leopoldovich Larry (1900-1977) is known for his famous story "The Extraordinary Adventures of Karik and Valya". In addition to it, he wrote many other works, including the fairy tale "Brave Tilly. Notes of a Puppy Written with a Tail". It was first published in the pages of the magazine "Murzilka" in 1970.

This is a kind story about how the puppy Tilly quarreled with his owner and ran away into the forest. The city puppy was not at all ready for life in the forest, so he wanted to make friends with the locals, but not everyone turned out to be as friendly as Tilly...

Illustrations for the fairy tale were drawn by Viktor Chizhikov.
