A unique book by the famous Russian gun designer Vladimir Grigorievich Fedorov (1874-1966) contains an overview of all kinds and types of edged weapons used in Russia and Europe in the late 18th - early 20th centuries.
Conducting research in the field of weapons history, Vladimir Grigorievich in his book examines the positive and negative sides of various designs of cold weapons. Working in the Main Artillery Directorate, having access to the richest collections and archives of the Artillery Museum (St. Petersburg), Fedorov in 1905 created this classic work. The book describes in detail both offensive weapons that were in service with cavalry (sabers, a checkers, swords, swords, palashas, pikes), artillery (cleavers, sabers), infantry (cleavers, bayonets), and defensive weapons (helmets, cuirasses, various shields).
Author's drawings and blueprints of the 1905 edition are supplemented with color photographs of samples of edged weapons, works of classical battle painting.
The book is addressed to all those interested in the history of weapons.
