The writer Iko Maran was born in Pskov in 1915, but soon moved to Estonia with his family. His whole life was connected with literature: he wrote books for children and adults, worked on the radio, and headed the literary part of various theaters. But it was children's books that brought Iko Maran fame, and in 1974 the writer was awarded the Smuula National Prize for his contribution to children's literature. Elephant Trunk is not just a toy. When the boy Siim received him as a birthday present, he did not know that the Elephant could talk. But very soon Hobotok became Siim's real friend. Now they did everything together: they played cubes and snowballs, went to grandma's house, ate plums in a race. And they also helped their parents: they cleaned buttons with toothpaste, saved a cake and took a suitcase of ants with them on the road. After all, even if you are small, you are capable of big things! For elementary school age.
