One night a boy named Melle sees on the edge of his bed a strange creature, like a woolen lump with handles, legs and sharp furry ears. Melle turns on a flashlight to see it, but the strange creature disappears.
When Melle talks about it at school, his classmates make him laugh. The biologist pope categorically states that such creatures do not exist in nature, but Melle finds a book in his father's office, which tells about these mysterious creatures - gorgels, and hears the Pope on the phone informing a mysterious interlocutor about what his son saw. Trying to learn more about the Gorgels, Melle will find new friends and together with them will fight with dangerous enemies; he is waiting for exciting adventures and amazing discoveries.
The book contains more than 70 color illustrations by renowned Dutch artist Rick de Haas.
