The collection includes Alexander Sergeevich Griboyedov's (1795-1829) comedy "Woe from Wit" - one of the pinnacles of Russian drama and poetry, a magnificent satire on Moscow society of the early 19th century, and, as an appendix, its most famous sequel - a conversation in verse by Evdokia Petrovna Rostopchina (1811-1858) "Chatsky's Return to Moscow, or Meeting of Familiar Faces after Twenty-Five Years of Separation". The book is decorated with illustrations by the talented Russian artists Dmitry Nikolaevich Kardovsky (1866-1943) and Mikhail Sergeyevich Bashilov (1821-1870).
