A puzzle in which incomprehensible murders are connected with a biblical tale and Eastern European legends…
The death of the famous writer Michael Barkley was terrible. He was stabbed several dozen times, then his head was cut off and placed on a silver platter. At the same time, Hollywood star Sharon Moore disappears. In her house, a bloody inscription “Help!” is found, as well as the words in a notebook: “If this continues, a monster will kidnap me and kill me.” And then someone, whom eyewitnesses describe as a “bald monster with a bloody face,” begins to steal children from the families of distinguished filmmakers. Such kidnappings and a similar creature are described in Barkley’s novel, which was completed just before his death…
And thousands of kilometers from Los Angeles, in the salty waters of the Dead Sea, a bizarre decoration floats. Here they are filming Salome, a blockbuster on a biblical theme about a princess who demanded the head of John the Baptist on a silver platter. It was she who was supposed to be played by the missing Sharon Moore. The events in Hollywood are clearly connected to this location shooting, but how? Only the brilliant Japanese detective Kiyoshi Mitarai, a friend of actress Leona Matsuzaki, who will play the role of Salome instead of the missing actress, can figure it out…
