Archimandrite John (Krestyankin; 1910-2006) was a clergyman of the Russian Orthodox Church, an archimandrite. For about forty years he was a resident of the Pskov-Pechersk Monastery. One of the most honored elders of the Russian Orthodox Church. The writings of Archimandrite John, from which the statements for this book are taken, contribute to the spiritual revival of society and are considered by members of the Church as practical aids in the work of Christian salvation. The book also contains an Akathist to the Blessed Virgin Mary and Orthodox prayers. The publication is intended for a wide range of Orthodox readers, particularly those who are interested in and value the literary heritage of Fr. John. "Whether we want, whether we do not want to agree with our fate and position, everything will be as God's Providence will give, foreseeing us now and in our future and leading us to fulfill the vows voluntarily taken upon ourselves. And all this is for our good and salvation and future joy. And by experience I can say that the sooner we accept the God-given things in our hearts, the easier it will be for us to bear God's good yoke and His light burden. It becomes heavy from our inner opposition." Archimandrite John (Krestyankin)
