To destabilize the British economy, pay for important imports and the work of German intelligence agents during World War II, an operation for the mass production of counterfeit banknotes was developed and secretly launched in Germany. Its leader, SS-Sturmbannführer Bernhard Krueger, selected a team of engravers, printers, artists and counterfeiters from among Jewish prisoners from concentration camps. Upon completion of the project, the Nazis were going to kill all the participants of Operation Bernhard, but they did not have time; the prisoners were liberated by American troops. Anthony Peary made an attempt to reconstruct the events of this Nazi adventure.
