Nazi Germany, which had engulfed Europe, turned out to be a colossus with feet of clay. Following the example of the Soviet people, attempts to resist Hitler's "Ordnung" began in other occupied countries. On the Eastern Front, this struggle was led by envoys of the USSR's chief saboteur, Pavel Sudoplatov. London also had its own "Sudoplatovites." British intelligence officer Peter Churchill was one of them. During World War II, he was repeatedly deployed to France to carry out various missions. Ultimately, he lost the "duel of wits" with the Abwehr and the Gestapo, was arrested, and spent the rest of the war in a concentration camp. In this book, he recounts British intelligence and sabotage operations in France in 1942–1943, as well as the methods used to train agents and send them into enemy territory. A significant place is devoted to the description of the heroic, selfless struggle of French patriots against the fascist invaders.
