Dualistic heresies of the Middle Ages

The book by Czech historian Milan Loos (1923-1985) is devoted to the history of the so-called "dualistic" religious movements that in the Middle Ages opposed the dominant Church in the East and West: the Paulicians, Bogomils, Cathars, Albigoyans, and Patarenes. Although by the conditions of the time these movements did not constitute an organizational unity, they were united, rejecting Christian rituals and sacraments, adhering to strict asceticism and denying the "sacred heritage" of Judaism - the writings of the Old Testament - brought into the Church. A special merit of the book is that the author worked in Socialist Czechoslovakia, and therefore was free from the pressure of external authorities, both ecclesiastical and those of European humanist organizations.
