"The Road Goes Away..." - is an autobiographical novel trilogy by Soviet writer Alexandra Brushtein (1884-1968) for children. The book includes the first, eponymous part of the trilogy. Pre-revolutionary moods, widespread poverty and hunger - in such a difficult time, at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries, in the family of a brilliant doctor, who, in addition to his main work in the hospital, gratuitously treats poor people, a girl Sasha grows up. Intelligent, attentive and capable, she perfectly understands what injustice is, and tries with all her might to restore it, even despite such a young age. The novel is published for the first time with illustrations by Kseniya Pochtennaya.
For middle school age.
