Based on a true story, this novel tells the story of the outstanding Polish educator and doctor Janusz Korczak, who perished along with his students in Treblinka.

Warsaw, 1940. The Jewish ghetto is under strict Nazi control. Hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children slowly die of starvation within its walls. And while despair reigns all around, one person brings hope and tirelessly cares for the ever-growing number of destitute children.
Students Misha and Zofia help Janusz Korczak at his Orphanage. But life in the ghetto becomes increasingly dangerous, and the young people are forced to confront the circumstances alone, hoping to one day find each other again. And Dr. Korczak, refusing to leave his children, will go to the very end, into the depths of terrible and inhumane darkness.
