"At the end of my first lesson, when I had to explain to a boy that clipping his pubic hair with manicure scissors and blowing it off in the direction of the girl you like was a bad idea, I realized that the learning process was not going to be easy," writes Ryan Wilson, author of the book. However, Wilson doesn't just talk about the downsides of working in a school. He describes many funny situations that happened to him. For example, he once turned on an excerpt from a feature film about Richard III to ninth graders, forgetting that there was an oral sex scene. To "protect the innocent eyes of the students," he stood in front of the screen, but soon realized that the projector was playing the intimate scene right in his face. When Wilson became vice principal and the weight of responsibility on his shoulders increased, he realized that the system was preventing him from doing his job well. For example, he was forced to lay off some staff members, cancel a number of services offered by the school, and cut back on child nutrition. He describes an unpleasant incident in which three Muslim students suddenly fled to war in Syria. Wilson also recounts a massacre at his school by a student from whom no one expected such a thing. At the end of the book, Ryan describes his departure from school and explains why he decided to pursue a career in another field.
