This publication is dedicated to the costume of the Dmitrovsky District of the Moscow Province in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries. It examines the characteristics and history of traditional costume, made using fabrics with a vat-printed finish typical of this region. The practical section includes instructions for creating individual items of women's clothing from the district: shirts, sarafans, aprons, sleeves, and belts.

The book presents 10 items of traditional women's clothing with sewing techniques and patterns for making replicas. Each item is accompanied by a 1:1 scale pattern for a sleeveless blouse.

This is the first book in the "Sewing with Russian Origins" series, dedicated to the history of Russian traditional costume, ancient technologies, and artistic techniques of folk textiles. The "Russian Origins" studio (Moscow) has been researching, preserving, and practicing folk art traditions for over a quarter of a century.
