Yuri Pavlovich German (1910-1967) had the chance to live and work in Soviet times, and his creative destiny turned out surprisingly well. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the writer was sincerely inspired by the ideas of reorganizing the world on more just, as it seemed, the grounds. In 1948, Herman even received a kind of protective letter - the Stalin Prize for the script of the movie "Pirogov" - this is one of his many works about people who devoted themselves to medicine. Trilogy, created in 1958-1964 ("The Cause You Serve", "My Dear Man", "I am responsible for everything"), tells the story of Vladimir Ustimenko. Having decided to become a doctor, the young man distances himself from everything that can hinder him, because, according to his conviction, "the greatest enemy of science, progress, civilization and just a doctor's craft is lethargy". Apathy and indifference he never allows himself, and from his uncompromising often suffer close to him, loved and loving people. This is a difficult path, but for Ustimenko he - the only possible ... The image of a young doctor inspired Joseph Heifitz to create the movie "My Dear Man" (1958) with Alexei Batalov in the title role.
