On April 26, 1986, at 01:23 at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant near the town of Pripyat, there was an explosion that destroyed the fourth power unit. Huge areas were radioactively contaminated. The accident caused irreparable damage to the ecology, destroyed the lives of thousands of people and changed millions of fates forever.
Residents of the city of Pripyat and nearby villages were evacuated. Many people believe that now the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is a dead territory. It is not. In the exclusion zone for the 38th year, the post-accident life is boiling, with its own laws and rules.
I managed to visit there and touch the history. And the main thing is to see with my own eyes what is going on there.
The clock on the wall of the power unit yesterday, today and tomorrow shows 1.23 a.m. And if it were possible to turn back time and change something, they would have changed it for sure. But the clock has stopped, time and people can return. All that remains is to remember.
My name is Dmitry. Since 2011, I have been passionate about industrial tourism and exploring the objects abandoned by people. The book presents my photos taken in different corners of the Chernobyl zone. Photos of a kind of post-apocalyptic world, which continues to exist and surprise with its mystery.
