They say that accidents are not random. That's exactly what Liz Clermont, a young Parisian chef, is convinced of. Her restaurant, which was about to receive its first Michelin star, has been poisoned by a customer, a female employee has filed a complaint, and the bank has withdrawn its financing. The ground seems to be shifting out from under her feet.
Just then, Liz receives a mysterious letter from the Basque Country inviting her to come to Moleon. The same one, already familiar to the reader from the novel Paloma. And Liz accepts the invitation.... In a land of rugged mountains, green fields, and impregnable castles, she finds her roots, finds the meaning of life, and realizes that light shines brighter when darkness thickens around her.
