Eusebius Pamphilus (c. 260–340), Bishop of Caesarea in Palestine, is rightfully called the "Father of Church History." His work became the first—and for many centuries, exemplary—exposition of Church history, laying the foundation for all subsequent Christian historiography. For centuries, church historians have relied on Eusebius of Caesarea's Church History in their methods, style of presentation, and understanding of history as a process. His work remains a primary source for the history of the first three centuries of Christianity.
This edition includes detailed tables of contents for each of the ten books of the Church History, appearing in Russian for the first time. In addition to commentary, it is provided with several indexes that significantly facilitate navigation. This publication is intended for both students of theology and anyone interested in Christian history and culture.
