The book "The Church and the Political Ideal" includes two monographs "Christianity and the Social Ideal (Philosophy, Law and Sociology of Industrial Culture)" and "The Philosophy of Russian Statehood", which set out the fundamental political and legal ideas of Western culture, as well as the opposing fundamental principles of Orthodox political thought, as they were revealed in the history of our Fatherland. The author pays special attention to the kinship of the political ideas of the Roman Catholic Church and the Reformation with the subsequent doctrines of liberalism and socialism, as well as to the analysis of the currently popular doctrine of post-industrialism, which, in the opinion of its founders, should overcome modern problems of the relationship between society and the state, while maximally ensuring the freedom of the individual. In addition, the second part of the book contains works on church and political journalism, which reveal such controversial and topical topics as the imperial form of state existence, the doctrine of "Moscow - the Third Rome" ("Anti-Rome"), as well as the causes and consequences of the church schism that arose between the Constantinople and Russian churches in recent years.
The book is designed for all those interested in the history of law and state, political thought, the history of the Church, as well as students of legal, historical and theological educational institutions.
