This publication continues the series of publications of diaries of residents of besieged Leningrad, prepared by the European University in St. Petersburg.

The author of the diary was born shortly before the revolution Alexei Fyodorovich Vogt, who served in the 2nd anti-aircraft machine gun regiment of the 2nd corps of the air defense of Leningrad. His records reflected the history of the life and struggle of the Leningrad family during the most difficult period of the blockade - from December 1941 to its breakthrough in January 1943. The peculiarity of the diary is not only that it was kept by a young educated man who knew his city perfectly: detailed records of changes in the appearance of Leningrad and the blockade of everyday life were made by a professional military engineer-builder, reflecting the consequences of bombing, shelling, fires. This text presents the reader with a reliable picture of the besieged city, where, in spite of everything, there was room for sincere feelings.
