The cartoon "The Bremen Town Musicians", based on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, was released in 1969. The script was written by actor, director and writer Vasily Livanov and poet and playwright Yuri Entin. The cartoon was very popular, the whole country sang the songs of the Troubadour, the Robbers, the King and the Princess. The lyrics for the songs were written by Yuri Entin, and the music by Gennady Gladkov. In 1973, a sequel to the cartoon was released: "In the Footsteps of the Bremen Town Musicians".

This book includes two fairy tales with songs: "The Bremen Town Musicians" and "In the Footsteps of the Bremen Town Musicians".
