The textbook is based on the textbook by Vera Aleksandrovna Korchagina. While retaining the style of presentation of educational material, the structure of this course has been significantly changed.
The peculiarity of this book is that the study of botany begins with an acquaintance with the morphology (external structure) of flowering plants. Each organ (part of the plant) is considered and studied exactly in the sequence with which it develops naturally in nature. It all begins with the study of the seed; then the root, the shoot are considered; the presentation ends with the structure of the flower. Concepts of wild and cultivated plants, and of plant life in nature are also discussed.
The textbook is written in an age-appropriate manner. The text is not overloaded with terminology, and therefore the child easily perceives it, the content becomes clear to him. Each paragraph is accompanied by bright and detailed photographs or drawings, which makes the textbook lively. The paragraphs are followed by a number of questions to emphasize the important aspects of the read text and to consolidate the material covered. Then there are tasks for independent work. The paragraphs are also supplemented with interesting facts about the world of plants, which develops children's curiosity and motivates them for further independent study of the topic.
