Edwin was born a sweet, fluffy little lump and was no different from any other rabbit. But his happy childhood ended when Edwin began to grow by leaps and bounds. The native mink became too small for him, and his parents, in tears, took their favorite son to a dense forest, where only such a giant could hide. But even there Edwin could not find a shelter, he barely got away from owls, foxes and ferrets. And for farmers he turned out to be a desirable prey, they chased the rabbit across the fields until the winter. But, as you know, the world is not without good people. One farmer, to whom poor Edwin crawled into the barn to warm himself, took in a huge rabbit. And in the spring he invented such an occupation that Edwin became famous all over the neighborhood. This fairy tale was written and drawn by Bill Peet (1915-2002), a famous American artist, screenwriter and writer, whose books have been published in different languages of the world for more than half a century. Before becoming a writer, Bill Peet worked for many years as an animator at Walt Disney Studios and participated in the creation of legendary full-length cartoons such as "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "Alice in Wonderland", "Peter Pan", and many others.
