The present edition of Blinky Bill. The Adventures of the Naughty Koala included three books by the Australian writer and artist Dorothy Wall (1894-1942) about the adventures of the marsupial bear. They will appeal to adventure lovers, as well as to all children who are interested in the unique flora and fauna of the Green Continent.
The first book “Blinky Bill” begins with the news that flew all over the bush: in the venerable family of koalas named Bill, a long-awaited baby was born. He clapped his eyes so funny - blink-blink - and looked so surprised that his parents decide to call him Blinky. In the godparents they take the sweet Angelina Wallaby - she will repeatedly rescue Blinky from the troubles in which he regularly gets because of his irrepressible curiosity. Most koalas are couched, for happiness they need silvery eucalyptus with a convenient slingshot branch and delicate juicy leaves in abundance. But the inquisitive Blinky does not sit in place, he constantly descends from his native tree and goes to look for adventures - to the horror of his mother, good-natured Mrs. Bill, the displeasure of the grumpy neighbor Aunt Grunty and the envy of Tiny Snabby, her son. During her travels, Blinky makes friends, learns to see the beauty of nature and understand its laws. He gradually understands why someone in the animal world eats. But how to explain the cause of human cruelty? Neither Blinky nor his mother nor their friends and bush neighbors know this.
In the second book "Blinky Bill grows up" Blinky, learning that his mother decided to send him to school, again runs away from home for a long time. Of course, the world is so big, bush is full of wonders, and Blinky is not going to wipe the nickerboxers at Mrs Magpay's boring school! He goes to a charity fair to help burner rabbits. He wanders into Mr. Hmykins's farm and barely gets his feet out of there. Meets the cheerful Terry Shacktail, the wise Mr. Filin, the leader of bulldog ants Brave Bobby, the sly Hilda and other inhabitants of the bush. He saves the rabbits from the cunning Belinda Fox, and the fox itself gets rid of the thorns. In the end, she and her mother are caught by hunters who bring them to the zoo.
In the third book, "Blinky Bill and Nutsy," Blinky and his mom escape from the zoo. And helps them in this Splodge - a real gentleman from a glorious family of giant kangaroos. They return to their eucalyptus, where a baby koala named Natsy now lives, and together open the Second House Hotel there.
