In the summer of 1572, the Battle of Molodyakh took place in the Moscow region, which predetermined the outcome of the long-lasting Russian-Crimean confrontation. The Crimean Khan Devlet-Girey I at the head of a large army came to Moscow to complete the work he had begun the previous year, when he managed to defeat Ivan the Terrible and burn his capital. Victory in this battle would have led to a significant weakening of the Russian state, the strengthening of the Crimea, which would have become a true empire, which would have changed the entire system of political relations in Eastern Europe. However, this did not happen - the Russian army led by the voivode Prince M. I. Vorotynsky in a multi-day battle managed to defeat the enemy and force him to retreat into his own borders. With the defeat at Molodi, the imperial dreams of the Crimean ruling elite were a thing of the past. This book is about how this battle was fought and what events led to it as the highest point of the Russian-Crimean confrontation.
