The story by Gavriil Nikolaevich Troepolsky "White Bim Black Ear", published in 1971, immediately after its release gained wide success with the public, was translated into dozens of languages and since then lives beyond time and reader age, reminding us of simple values: love, responsibility, compassion. The film of the same name (1977) by Stanislav Rostotsky, based on this book, repeatedly won at various film festivals and was nominated for an Oscar in 1979 as the best foreign film. In Voronezh, the writer's homeland, a monument was erected to the main character of the story - a setter named Bim with an unusual color, but with the most common understanding of the world for any dog, based on devotion to a friend and duty.
