The famous pirate Balbuzar rules the Sarbakan Sea. He attacks ships, sinks them, and takes the precious cargo for himself. Balbuzar is wild, cruel, menacing, but at the same time kind and fair in his own way. He lives in harmony with the sea, islands, reefs, wind... Birds always fly around him. Men, women, children - everyone loves Balbuzar. After all, he is free as air.
However, Empress Pepita the Thirteenth does not like the tyranny that the desperate pirate is committing in her domains. She sends an armada against him under the command of her best captain, nicknamed the Commodore. He is arrogant and ruthless. He personifies law, strength and order.
The Commodore and Balbuzar enter into battle. Two outstanding sailors, two experienced warriors. And the war begins - fierce, but unequal, because behind the Commodore is the army and the entire might of the Empire. On his orders, a gigantic ship is built, which will undoubtedly destroy the fleet under the black flag. Is Balbuzar's fate predetermined? Or will the cunning pirate find a way to defeat the monstrous enemy?
"Balbuzar" is a story of the confrontation of two worlds. Authority and law against the sea and freedom. The text by Gerard Moncomble skillfully combines humor, poetry and adventure, and the magnificent illustrations by Frederic Pillot give us the opportunity to see this exciting story with our own eyes.
