Nikolai Pavlovich Zadornov (1909-1992) - a famous Russian writer, author of several novels telling the story of the history of the exploration of Siberia and the Far East by Russian pioneers. A special love of the readers won the dilogy "Amur-batyushka" and its continuation "Gold Rush". In the last decades of the XIX century on the numerous tributaries of the Amur discovered rich gold placers. Driven by need and hardship, settlers from Central Russia, whole villages go to this uninhabited harsh land, where the land is good, animals and fish are plentiful, and the waters of the Amur River carry particles of precious metal. Here and there in the depths of the Amur forests, republics of prospectors emerge - tiny states within a state, with their own laws and rulers, who are not afraid sometimes to enter into open struggle with the tsarist authorities....
