The grateful akathist “Thank God for everything” was written by Metropolitan Tryphon (Turkestanov) (1861-1934), a wonderful preacher and spirit-bearing elder. Vladyka’s life path was laborious: serving as a priest in prison and on the front lines during the First World War, episcopal activity, care for orphanages, early liturgies in Moscow churches, clergy and wandering. For the amazing gift of the word, the believing people called him “Moscow Chrysostom”. Shortly before his death, Metropolitan Tryphon wrote an akathist, which became his spiritual testament.
