The fog of war, or the fog of the unknown... For almost two centuries, the militaries of many countries around the world have used this term to describe the incompleteness and unreliability of available data on the position of their own and enemy forces in the theater of operations. This incompleteness and unreliability leads to errors in military planning, troop and reserve movements, and ultimately to a decrease in the effectiveness of combat operations and even to the loss of certain battles. To a large extent, the "fog of war" can be overcome (dispersed) with the help of good intelligence, quality communications, a high degree of organization of troops.
In June 1941, the German army, taking advantage of its superiority, achieved through better organization, better communication and the presence of combat experience, in the border battles arranged the Red Army impenetrable "fog of war", smashing its fighting order, breaking the communication system, bringing chaos and confusion in the management of troops, organizing "cauldrons of encirclement. Our contemporary Sergei Ivanov, having moved into a parallel reality, in June 1941, uses his military knowledge and experience, as well as knowledge of the course and events of the Great Patriotic War in our time.
