The recollections of the famous Russian politician and memoirist Vasily Vitalievich Shulgin (1878-1976) "1921", written by him together with his future wife and close friend, are an attempt to describe "slices of life" on "both shores" of the Black Sea. The first part of the book is devoted to the Russian emigration in Constantinople, the second to the illegal trip of Shulgin and his associates to the Crimea in September 1921. The third part describes the journey through Soviet Russia of V. A. Lazarevsky, who did not travel to the Crimea. A. Lazarevsky, who failed to leave Crimea with Shulgin. The full text of "1921" has never been published due to a ban by the family of Prince V. A. Obolensky, whose relatives remained in Russia and were directly connected to the history described in the book. "1921" is the final part of the trilogy of V. V. Shulgin, dedicated to the Civil War (the first two books - "1919" and "1920").
