The fairy tale "Cinderella" is read with equal interest all over the world. The story of Cinderella is not unique, other authors have repeatedly retold this popular folk story, but it is Charles Perrault's version that has become the most famous thanks to the uniqueness of details, the refined and light image of Cinderella and the absence of motives of cruelty and retribution.
The enchantress tutors a poor girl who suffers from the nagging of her naughty sisters and stepmother. To get Cinderella to the ball, she transforms a pumpkin into a carriage, rats and mice into horses and footmen, and gives her crystal slippers and an inexpressibly beautiful dress. (All these fantastic elements Charles invented himself, they were not present in the folk interpretation of the fairy tale). In the meek and beautiful Cinderella falls in love with a beautiful prince, and the lost crystal slipper helps him to find his chosen one.
All little girls to whom the fairy tale "Cinderella" is read, dream of being like the main character. The moral of the fairy tale: kindness, modesty, responsiveness, forgiveness and hard work - these are the traits that a girl must possess in order to eventually marry the prince. The fairy tale teaches to forgive loved ones for their misdeeds, not to pay in the same coin and not to complain unnecessarily about anything.
The real decoration of the book - exquisite illustrations by Vladimir Konashevich, elegant, poetic, amazingly accurate in detail, conveying the true French flavor of the fairy tale.
