This book is a significantly expanded, supplemented, and revised monograph devoted to bayonets for the Russian three-line rifle model 1891, developed by the outstanding Russian gunsmith Sergei Ivanovich Mosin.
The number of bayonets shown in the book—complete or in fragments—has been significantly increased to 153. The section on the markings and markings found on bayonets for the Russian three-line rifle has been expanded, and the sections covering experimental bayonets, arsenal and workshop bayonets, and surrogate and ersatz bayonets from the First and Second World Wars have been significantly expanded. Furthermore, considerable attention is given to bayonets for the three-line rifle produced by other countries. For the first time in Russian arms literature, the book devotes significant attention to bayonets produced in Finland and Poland. Also featured are bayonets (and, in some cases, rifles and carbines) from other countries, such as Hungary, China, Romania, the United States, France, and others.
The section on bayonet scabbards for the Model 1891 rifle has been expanded and supplemented with new materials. A completely new section, "Unattributed Bayonets and Curiosities," also appears in the book, exploring the mysteries the authors encountered while collecting material for the second edition.
This monograph concludes with a short but comprehensive section devoted to additional devices that made it possible to transform a three-line rifle into a fully-fledged multi-purpose combat system. These include rifle scissors, mortars, mufflers, grenade launchers, and more.
